The middle section of each piece is where you get to "improve" on Cole Porter's work. The chord changes and measures are shown for the middle sections of the songs, and the performer gets to improvise while playing with the backup band (on the CD). It's a neat concept - practicing (and learning) improvisational skills without wasting the time of a backup band. This is a neat book that you'll surely enjoy!
